I'm trying to stay healthy. I don't want to gain my freshman fifteen any time soon... or ever.
This was my very first on-my-own meal. A turkey and swiss sandwich, baked Lays, Dasani water bottle, three different types of grapes... and a Fruit by the Foot. Hey, dessert had to come from somewhere. I took a picture to capture the very, very momentous occasion. ;)

Pretty good for my first on-my-own meal, right? Especially coming from someone who doesn't know how to cook.
I've been on my own for about a month now and my meals haven't changed a whole lot. I still eat a lot of sandwiches, fruit, Baked Lays, and cafeteria food. I still love Fruit by the Foot, although I get that more rarely.
Oh, college food...
I need to learn how to make different kinds of things to eat.
I love sandwiches. I keep forgetting to bring a lunch to school (I'm a college student who lives at home), so I've gotten into the expensive habit of buying sandwiches from the United across the street. You can't go wrong with a good sandwich.
ReplyDeleteMost college students I know live off curry and pasta. :P I like to make a lot at once and try to see if it can last me for a whole week.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a kitchen in my dorm room, and I'm only allowed a hot pot, coffee pot and small fridge, so I've had to manage to get by w/ the old faithful standbys like Ramen and Easy Mac, though definitely not healthy. Canned soup works too, but it is such a hassle to cleanup afterwards.
ReplyDeleteSara, I had trouble with canned soup too and then I got some paper or styrofoam bowls... they made things a lot easier because I could just throw them away in a hall trashcan when I'm done.
