I've seen so much color recently in the wildflowers that have bloomed all throughout Texas. Yellow and pink and orange and beautiful bluebonnets. They scatter the countryside. Yesterday I drove nine hours with Ali from Aggieland to my hometown. The flowers I saw made the long trip beautiful.
It's Easter soon. While we are taking time to remember and appreciate the sacrifice Christ made for us, this holiday is also a time of festivity and family and joy. We will be having a large Easter egg hunt tomorrow.
Colors. So many colors.
My roommate Julianna gave me an Easter gift that was quite colorful.
I accidentally frightened my other roommate Ashley. When I left yesterday afternoon, I forgot to lock the door behind me... and Ashley and I have not seen each other for a few days in a row (yes, I've been that busy), meaning neither of us knew the other's plans for Easter.
Today poor Ashley texted me, afraid I had been abducted from our apartment after coming home to an empty space with the door unlocked.
My bad.
Even though there is no rain here and flowers have not grown, there is still color in my hometown. Not in the grass or the trees, not where flowers once would be, but there is color in the sky. The moon was golden tonight.
Color is one of my favorite things that God created.

1 Peter 3:3-4
Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
I love NLT's wording of this passage. I strive to be a woman of God with a gentle and quiet spirit. When people look at me, I pray that they see the beauty of my spirit so much brighter than they see the beauty of my outward appearance.
I showed Belle her picture. She was not impressed (but I was!). But, you know, when you're "queen of the home", really---!!!
